How to get there |
From São Paulo take the BR 116 direction South. Approx. 2km after the junction of Juquitiba the road crosses the river. 50 m after the second bridge, there is a dirt road on the right. Follow this road, after 1,5 km you will come to the Rafting Company Canoar, where you may park the car. |
Direct after the take in, it's starting: "Pauleiras" - here the end of the rapid |
|
Character |
The standard run of the Juquiá may be classified as a sportive "Touring River" and is very appropriate for beginners. He is passing through some private property (weekend houses) and some short spots of Mata Atlantica. This could be a perfect scenery, if the water would not be so polluted. At low flows there is a slight smell of soap, when the water moves. |
