How to get there

From São Paulo take the BR 116 direction South. Approx. 2km after the junction of Juquitiba the road crosses the river. 50 m after the second bridge, there is a dirt road on the right. Follow this road, after 1,5 km you will come to the Rafting Company Canoar, where you may park the car.

Direct after the take in, it's starting: "Pauleiras" -  here the end of the rapid

Character

The standard run of the Juquiá may be classified as a sportive "Touring River" and is very appropriate for beginners. He is passing through some private property (weekend houses) and some short spots of Mata Atlantica. This could be a perfect scenery, if the water would not be so polluted. At low flows there is a slight smell of soap, when the water moves.
